Whats up with Nocti?


Hey! Despite the radio silence, I have been working hard on Nocti. I'm still only able to work on it once or twice a week, but I've been making steady progress on getting the demo ready. The purple forest area from the demo is almost completed, and after that I'm going to buckle down on making more NPCs. I've also finally figured out how I'm going to approach making NPCs and uh... let's just say I enjoy suffering lmao. 


I've also decided to give face graphics another go; I was going to try to semi automate them but it didn't work how I wanted so I'll just have to do them all by hand. Adding face graphics has been a real back and forth for me but in the end I think the extra work will be worth it since the game is pretty story driven. Or side story driven? It's still a wandering game at heart but there's a lot of little plots to get yourself tangled up in. 

There has also been a lot of work put into the options menu. Yanfly's options core has given me the ability to add a lot of features that I wouldn't have been able to otherwise.  I've been inspired by Game Maker's Toolkit to try and add quality of life options that will make it easier for everyone to play. 

I'm still way away from the demo coming out but I promise it will come out sometime this year! 2019 year of the Nocti baby!!
