Where we're at
Okay everyone! I have an exciting update to share with you all! The next update for Nocti is nearly done! Yippee!
The biggest amount of work to do right now is character sprites and cutscenes with the maidens, but just about everything else is done or nearing completion. It's kind of wild how much more polished the game looks and feels since starting the refactoring project.
In order to keep track of the progress of porting I made a spreadsheet. Turns out this works way better with my brain then the Trello ever did. I figured you might want to see just how far along things are, so I'm gonna share it with you.
The two leftmost columns are what's going to be in the next update. Anything in green is 100% done, yellow is a nebulous "in progress", red means I haven't touched it yet, and finally gray is "Don't worry about it just yet". As you can see by all the green, we're pretty close to the finish line. It happened super quick too, even with the amount of work I put into redoing every event and updating old graphics. I suspect that if I keep up this pace I'll be able to finish the rest of the game in less than a fourth of the time it took to make the first half.
I'm not including the portrait sprites in this chart, it has its own thing. I think for this update I might just leave most of the sprites either as sketches or flat, unpixelized colors.
I'm off to do more work on the game, Thanks for reading!
