August Update

Hey there! From now on im going to try to post updates about Nocti once each month sometime around the 15th. Emphasis on try. 

This month I’ve been busy reworking the starting location of the game. There is a whole little island to explore, with NPCs and actual dialogue! The game will still have collectible effects and a surreal landscape to explore of course, but it’s going to mean something now and have an actual story instead of just being pretty to look at. Worlds are also no longer sectioned off but blend into each other more organically, which was what I wanted to do in the beginning but decided against to make it feel more Yume Nikki-ish for the Jam. 

I’m hoping to have this “Hub world” finished by the end of August, but with my schedule being a little busy right now I don’t know if that will actually happen, so maybe mid September is a better goal. After that I’m hoping to be able to finish each world in about a month/month and a half, which means the game will probably be finished sometime next year.

I’m planning on making a Game Dev side twitter to use as a wip dumping ground instead so you don’t have to wade through dozens of unrelated posts to find Nocti stuff. Don’t know when that will happen but probably pretty soon.
